In time for Halloween, Helena Fox Fine Art showcases paintings characterized by veiled, moody, and hazy lighting and subjects. Lovers of the night can examine nocturnal works by guest artists David Bareford, Scott W. Prior, and Mickey Williams, who often depicts landscapes illuminated by the moon’s glow. Gallery artists John Budicin, John Cosby, Julyan Davis, Donald Demers, Mary Erickson, Billy O’Donnell, Ed Rice, and West Fraser, known for his work featuring the city’s glowing lights at night, also will display scenes reflecting an absence of direct light. The show opens October 7 in conjunction with Charleston Gallery Association’s First Friday. Helena Fox Fine Art, 106-A Church St. Monday & Wednesday-Sunday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. (843) 723-0073, www.helenafoxfineart.com
