Lowcountry Jazz Festival

Now in its 10th year, the Lowcountry Jazz Festival returns to the Gaillard for a bop, swing, and funk-filled celebration. Friday’s opening party features a performance by Grammy-nominated R&B singer Anthony David, followed by two days of shows by 10 artists, including R&B trio the Sax Pack as well as jazz saxophonist Marion Meadows. Each year, the festival raises money for Closing the Gap in Health Care Inc., which advocates for increased medical literacy of African Americans and funds scholarships for South Carolina medical school students. Charleston Gaillard Center, 95 Calhoun St. Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, 7:30 pm. $153-$68.
