Buru has relocated its women’s clothing boutique from The Charleston Place to The Planters Inn as Beemok Hospitality Collection closes the property’s east corridor to make way for a new spa, part of a $150 million renovation. When Buru opened in fall 2024, it was the West Coast line’s only permanent storefront. Founded by Morgan Hutchinson in 2013, the brand is known for its signature “Teagan” tiered skirt and “timeless-with-a-twist” styles made in small batches from leftover deadstock fabrics and upcycled trims in a Los Angeles factory. The new location, which opened in June, has a street-front entrance, more square footage, and a designated gallery for its new leather accessories collection. Allen Edmonds is bringing its men’s footwear—including dress shoes, loafers, sneakers, and boots—to King Street. The brand’s Charleston location will showcase its elevated “Reserve” collection of exclusive styles made in America with high-quality materials, including a loafer crafted in crocodile. The store also will offer extended sizes, customization, and recrafting services. Founded in Port Washington, Wisconsin, in 1922, Allen Edmonds is known for its craftsmanship and timeless styles. Celebrity and influencer favorite Alo Yoga has joined athleisure stores Lululemon, Vuori, and Greyson Clothiers on King Street. The fast-growing, Los Angeles-based brand was founded in 2007 and now has more than 130 stores across the US. Alo has gained popularity for its pledge to sustainable manufacturing and fashion-forward, studio-to-street styles. Find the Charleston location in the former Rack Room Shoes space.
