Founded by singer-songwriter Eric Johnson in the late ’90s, indie-rock band Fruit Bats got its start touring as a support act for bands like The Sadies and Modest Mouse. In addition to frequent covers of Grateful Dead songs, the group has released original albums ranging from the lo-fi-leaning Echolocation to the disco-influenced Gold Past Life.
