Runway Raves: Up in Arms

Capped, illusion, or buttoned up, sleeves add a ladylike look to every gown

After Kate said “I do” to Will, a slew of copycat sleeved gowns hit the stores. Now that royal wedding mania has evolved into a royal baby watch, designers have finally put their own stamp on the style. Grand for gals who want to cover up a bit or for those looking to take the chill out of a strapless gown, there are sleeved silhouettes to suit all shapes, sizes, and styles. We’re nuts for Monique Lhuillier’s three-quarter length lace sleeves and bateau bodice. And how about those covered buttons at the wrist of Rosa Clara’s sweet concoction? Divine.
