You are here
We interrupt our regular Wednesday inspiration board post to bring you Royal Watch 2011!
There's no hiding it, I lap up a royal wedding like my pup Oscar (Wilde) downed a bowl of peppermint bark last Christmas. In other words, with speed, gusto, and frenetic abandon.
So you can only imagine how exciting this flip book of sketches from WWD is: www.wwd.com/eyescoop/eye/the-princess-bride-designs-for-kate-middletons-... ! Personally I'm nuts over Jason Wu's creation (or confection?), shown above. You might remember him as the designer yanked from obscurity when First Lady Michelle Obama picked his gown for her twirl across the dance floor at the inaugural ball last year.
Of course, it's more likely a Brit will do the design honors when Kate says "I do" April 29, 2011. But you can bet that how she goes, so will go the world, even our little corner of it. After all, it was Queen Victoria who first made a white gown the it color and that shade still reigns supreme.
Stay tuned for more Royal Watch 2011. One thing on the radar? Lindsay Nowak from Maddison Row said at her last week's in-store showing that they'll be having some sort of Royal Wedding Soirée in the spring to talk fashion, fashion, fashion. We (as in me and other Charleston Wedding-ers, not the royal "we") can't wait!
