We give up a lot of freedoms in the name of progress. It wasn’t all that long ago that you could drive your car down the beach (or ride your horse) and salute your personal firework display with the libation of your choosing. Of course, Charleston’s population growth means that a lawless beach in 2013 would lead to litter, riots, and general mayhem…or would it?

Folly Beach made a lot of news last year when it joined Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island by banning drinking on the beach, sparking plenty of conversation about which laws are worthwhile and which ones just make it more difficult to have a good time. Tell us what you think:
