The energy backstage on Wednesday night was noticeably different from the night before: everything felt more relaxed, looser, more energetic.

To wrap up this year's CFW, I decided to rehash a few favorite moments. The trouble, of course, was condensing all my great memories from this year's Charleston Fashion Week into a selection of 25.
CFW Saturday: Bridal Couture Show
I’m not going to lie, I’m a little exhausted from last night’s fabulous after-party at Music Farm, but I have no idea what a bridal couture show is going to entail, so I arrive at the tents a little earlier than normal to scope things out.
CFW Friday Night
It’s time for another night of CFW runway shows! I’m back at the tents, and the first thing I notice is how many people there are.
CFW Thursday
It's my third night of CFW runway shows! I follow my routine by perusing the gathering crowd under the tent before heading backstage to check out the behind-the-scenes madness.
CFW Wednesday Night

It’s raining as I get to the tents—which is doing horrendous things to my hair, already—so I’m expecting there to be less people arriving early than yesterday. Apparently even the “scattered showers with a chance of frizz” weather forecast does not deter CFW fans, because people are already staking out prime seats under the tents and enjoying the bar area. Among them are Emerging Design Competition semi-finalist Swapnali Ahire with her mom picking up CFW merchandise. “I had to get a t-shirt!” she says. I ask how she felt about her show the night before, “Awesome. It was so great. I’m looking forward to seeing the finalists!”

This is my first time under the tents for Charleston Fashion Week, and I’m so excited to finally get a glimpse of what everyone’s been talking about. I sneak in the back while Ayoka gives the models a pep talk sprinkled with a little tough love before they take their final practice walks down the runway.
