New York Fashion Week Photo Diary: Day 3
One of my favorite shows each season is Jill Stuart and this season did not dissapoint! Perfectly paired textured sheers, skirts with side pleats, nuetrals a plenty and safari aethestics created a clever mix of truly wearable looks. However, it was the shoes that left me in a state of hyperventalation. Picture it.. super high satin cranberry wedges with a slight mock heel and ankle strap! Delicious! The marathon of shows did not stop here. Lacoste delivered 60's style with androgynous flair. Mara Hoffman went bold colorful and Polynesian with prints and geometric florals. Hérve Léger added their take on more geometric prints with a very body-conscious sexy collection. My final show of the day may be one of my favorites this season despite the fact that the invite read - 'This is not a fashion show'. Imitation took over the Bortolami Gallery with a fashion installation that ventured into the concept of beauty and the body featuring models dressing and undressing in front of antique mirrors ranging in age from about 5 to 85 years. With the edge of performance art, Imitation delivered their SS13 collection with pure brilliance at it's finest. To top it off, I spotted one of my personal favorite style stars, literally in my top 5, actress/designer Chloe Sevigny. Peak of the day: being street styled for my glitter metallic french manicure with full on interview. Nothing goes unnoticed at Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week. Pit: my dogs are barking!
