“Russian Impressionism”

This month, impressionist landscape and figurative oil painter Aleksander Titovets, along with his wife, still-life painter Lyuba, present their “Russian Impressionism” exhibit. After leaving their homeland of Russia, the couple relocated to El Paso, Texas, to live near relatives. Aleksander‘s work often centers around scenes and landscapes from the South, though his most recognized piece is a 2008 portrait of former First Lady Laura Bush, which now resides in the National Portrait Gallery of the Smithsonian. Lyuba‘s paintings are vibrant and whimsical, mostly depicting Russian folk images. Join the artists during the opening reception on September 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. Ella Walton Richardson Fine Art Gallery, 58 Broad St. Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm. Free.
