Guerilla Cuisine Dinner for Darkness to Light

September 13

The Party:

Michael Mitchell Gallery saw a party of 70 guests who came for good food, live jazz music from Tom Swift and his Electric Cohorts, and vibrant art at the Guerilla Cuisine Dinner for Darkness to Light.

The Highlights:

Despite the ovens giving out by the sixth course, chefs provided a 10-course meal, including delicacies such as thinly sliced cobia fish with a pear chow chow and hot sauce vinaigrette, pho broth with shitake mushrooms and turmeric scrambled tofu, and pineapple sorbet with shaved coconut bread and basil seed.

Proceeds from the dinner, including 20 percent of the price of any art sold during the event, benefited Darkness to Light, a grassroots nonprofit which works to prevent childhood sexual abuse through public awareness and education.
