Charlestonians came out in droves to support the Young Advocates Soiree & Opening Night Preview Party for the Charleston International Antiques Show on Thursday, March 17.

There was no shortage of festivities downtown on St. Patrick’s Day, and many of Charleston’s young professionals found their way to the Historic Charleston Foundation’s Charleston International Antiques Show Preview Party and Young Advocates Soiree. Guests dressed to impress and enjoyed wine and cocktails while nibbling on savory bites and browsing the extensive selection of antiques, which ranged from vases to vintage hats, that were also available for purchase.

Charleston culinary celebrities Matt and Ted Lee, authors of the “Simple Fresh Southern” cookbook, mingled with the crowd and a troupe of belly dancers led the way to the Young Advocates Soiree overlooking the Charleston Harbor.

Green lights and loud dance music welcomed partygoers, who quickly found their way to the bar and buffet of delicious Lowcountry bites. Three break dancers wowed the crowd with their outrageous moves and took the energy to the next level, and the party lasted well into the night.

The Historic Charleston Foundation was established in 1947, and aims to protect Charleston’s buildings, landscapes and cultural resources through their preservation and advocacy programs.
