Women Making a Difference 2010 Kickoff

Scores of women gathered in the private dining room above Rue de Jean last Wednesday for the launch of Women Making a Difference's 2010 giving circle campaign. Started in 2002 by three local women—Nancy Snowden, Weesie Newton, and Katie Dukes—the group of charity-minded women has funneled more than $300,000 back into the community via grants administered by the Coastal Community Foundation. Given the group's mission of improving the quality of life for women and children in Charleston, it was not surprising that attendees represented some of the community's most devoted volunteers, nonprofit administrators, and donors.
