Wine to Water

Social Restaurant and Wine Bar hosted the 2nd Annual Wine to Water fundraiser on Wednesday, July 20

The second annual Wine to Water benefit at Social Restaurant and Wine Bar was nothing if not a chic, festive affair. The crowd was young, hip, and animated, and the tone of the evening was sophisticated without the least hint of pretension.

Former Charleston resident and director of events for Wine To Water, Chelsea Small warmly welcomed guests and helped get the party started, and the drinks were flowing as guests rubbed elbows, enjoyed the live music, and placed bids on the summer-themed silent auction. Tasty bites, including a delicious seafood salad served on the half shell, were circulated by servers throughout the affair. Though there was no shortage of beautiful people in the crowd, partygoers seemed more focused on supporting the cause, Wine to Water, than seeing and being seen.

Wine to Water was founded in Raleigh, North Carolina by Doc Hendley in 2004 with the mission of raising awareness about the global water crisis as well as seeking to provide clean water to needy people worldwide. Today Water to Wine has helped individuals in many countries including Sudan, India, Cambodia, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Haiti.
