Spoleto SCENE Joy Kills Sorrow Party
Spoleto SCENE threw a cocktail party at the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art to kick off the Joy Kills Sorrow Party.
The press to partygoer ratio was about one-to-one at the Joy Kills Sorrow Spoleto SCENE party. Flashbulbs aplenty fired while media mavens scribbled in notebooks and the stylishly dressed crowd of socialites mugged for the camera in groups of two or three.
As journalists circulated about the Halsey Institute for Contemporary Art, attendees crowded around a table of gourmet savory bites, relishing chicken skewers, miniature ham and cheese sandwiches, and goat cheese-stuffed dates wrapped in bacon. Everyone rubbed elbows over glasses of wine while chatting about the upcoming Joy Kills Sorrow concert, or the Saltworks exhibit by Japanese artist Motoi Yamamoto.
The media began to disappear after each partygoer had been sufficiently documented, and guests buzzed about their top Spoleto picks and other Spoleto parties. The concert grew near, and the crowd thinned considerably as everyone headed across the street to stake out a good spot for the much-awaited Joy Kills Sorrow concert.
