Wednesday offered Charlestonians a welcome break from the brutal August heat, and many people jumped at the opportunity simultaneously enjoy the weather and support a good cause at Pour It Forward, the Square Onion Too’s monthly fundraising event.

A sizable crowd gathered in the garden between the Square Onion Too and Earthly Artifacts, relishing in the mild temperatures and beautiful scenery. Guests lined up at the wine tasting table or snagged tasty gourmet bites from inside, and many people lingered close to the live music or lounged on lawn chairs. It was the perfect mid-week break, a mellow celebration where neighbors and supporters of Dragon Boat Charleston could catch up and unwind.

Dragon Boat Charleston was founded in 2003 and is a nonprofit promoting physical and mental wellness among cancer survivors throughout the Lowcountry. The beneficiary of August’s Pour It Forward, Dragon Boat Charleston focuses on the Chinese sport of dragon boating as a method of wellness.
