Feng Yi Ting Spoleto After Party
Chinese opera Feng Yi Ting made its Spoleto debut, and art aficionado and theater lovers flocked to the scenic after-party on Sunday, May 27.
If there’s one thing Spoleto and its patrons do well, it’s an elegant Lowcountry fete. Dining al fresco, mingling on the veranda, and stimulating conversation are staples of any Spoleto party, and the Feng Yi Ting after-party was no exception. The Chinese opera made its debut at this year’s Spoleto Festival to rave reviews, and the stars and key crew joined their supporters and Spoleto VIPs at a historic home on Ashley Avenue after the show.
Co-producer Sarina Tang cut a striking figure in a hot pink and black, structural garment while Feng Yi Ting lead Tiemen Shen gracefully chatted with fans. Conductor Ken Lam was also on hand, discussing the work with the excited audience members.
Partygoers rubbed elbows and mingled on the extensive veranda before making their way down to the gardens to enjoy delicious Chinese bites al fresco.
The sophisticated fete was the perfect way to welcome summer, and guests lingered before making their way out into the Charleston summer evening.
Feng Yi Ting made its debut at Spoleto Festival USA, an annual, internationally recognized 17 day festival of the arts which takes place in Charleston, SC. While providing performances of the highest caliber, Spoleto Festival USA maintains a dedication to young artists, a commitment to all forms of the performing arts, a passion for contemporary innovation, and an enthusiasm for providing unusual performance opportunities for established artists.
