The Coastal Community Foundation honored 2012 Malcom Haven Award Winner Henry Blackford at a cocktail reception at the Riviera at Charleston Place.

Tis the season for giving and giving thanks, and the Coastal Community Foundation gave thanks to its donors and honored Henry Blackford as the recipient of the 2012 Malcom Haven Award. The cocktail reception took place at the Riviera at Charleston Place, and donors and supporters of the Coastal Community Foundation stepped out for an intimate night of food, drink, and congratulations to the Blackford family. 

Guests milled about, catching up and nibbling on fruit, cheese, roast beef, and made to order pasta plates, and soon George Stevens stepped forward to welcome the crowd before introducing board chairperson Babs Warner, who was to give the award. The award was preceded by a beautiful video interviewing many of Blackford’s friends and colleagues, all of whom commented on his generosity, support, and commitment to our community. Blackford then took the podium with some sweet, emotional words of thanks. 

The Coastal Community Foundation is a public, nonprofit foundation governed by a board of 26 community leaders elected to three-year terms. Each member embraces the Foundation's philanthropic mission and drives our success through their earnest leadership and expertise.
