A Night at the Races
‘Tis the season for mint juleps and large hats, as evidenced by the Charleston Junior League’s A Night at the Races Derby Party. Partygoers crowded in to the afternoon fete punctually, pausing to mug for the photo booth before making their way upstairs to the seating area, food, and bar.
Guests noshed on ham sandwiches, barbecue sliders, and potato salad. Everyone admired each other’s hats, fascinators, and seersucker attire over drinks as the afternoon wore on, with many attendees arguing over the Derby and who was the favorite.
Partygoers milled about the fete, admiring the fashions on their way to enjoy some outdoor musical entertainment before the races. Everyone chatted and mingled before the show, and many guests congregated over the silent auction.
The Charleston Junior League serves our tri-county community by collaborating with other nonprofit organizations to combat hunger and homelessness.
