The Children's Museum of the Lowcountry threw their 8th annual gala on Thursday, November 3.
Colored lights, laughter, and loud beats hailed guests of the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry from Ann Street. Partygoers entered the museum by way of a red carpet, and they entered to find a large, fashionable crowd circulating between the bar and silent auction.
Characters from A Night at the Museum randomly appeared between the groups of mingling attendees, but most people found themselves drawn to the tables of delicious fare in the patio area. The snacks were sophisticated takes on kid-friendly fare, and everyone noshed on cowboy chili from Good Food Catering or the Magic Cheese Truck’s ham and swiss delight, tomato pie melt, and the aptly named Nutella the Hun.
The silent auction eventually gave way to a live auction, and those who attended were happy to give to a good cause. The Children's Museum of the Lowcountry is a non-profit organization that aims to spark children’s imagination, stimulate curiosity and encourage problem solving through the power of play. The proceeds from the gala directly supported scholarships for Title One field trips, vital CML community outreach programs such as CML Super Stars and the Artist-in-Residence program, as well as exhibit upgrades and science and art supplies.
