Happy Hours

Happy Hours
December 2014

This town’s happy hour options are endless, even after you consider the two most important requirements: sweet deals on drinks (and ideally food, too!) and an atmosphere that can melt the day’s worries away. Here, favorite options all over the map

Downtown:

Barsa
A parking lot boosts any downtown restaurant up our list, but add the roomy, wraparound bar and comfy sofa seating (plus a patio for fine weather), and this Spanish tapas spot offers the ultimate in after-work ease. Take advantage of happy hour pricing from 4 to 7 p.m. on the signature paella and drinks. 58 Line St., (843) 577-5393, www.barsacharleston.com

Muse Restaurant and Wine Bar
This Mediterranean eatery’s intimate bar is just-right for catching up with a friend away from the King Street chaos. Pair a glass of wine from the expansive list with a $5 cheese plate, or go with a $4 blood-orange margarita or $3 Bellini or Rossini from 5 to 7 p.m. When in Rome, right? 82 Society St., (843) 577-1102, www.charlestonmuse.com

West Ashley:

Voodoo Tiki Bar
Whether you want to mingle at the busy bar or enjoy the privacy of a high-backed booth, don’t skip the tacos—creative options such as BBQ Duck and Red Curry Chicken are half off from 4 to 7 p.m. 15 Magnolia Rd., (843) 769-0228, www.voodootikibar.com

James Island:

Heart Woodfire Kitchen
James Islanders head here for a laid-back happy hour that can be enjoyed indoors or out. Slip in between 4 and 6 p.m., and you can snag drink deals like $3 cocktails and $4 draft beers, as well as $5 burgers on Mondays, $8 flatbreads on Tuesdays, and $6 skewers every day. 1622 Highland Ave., (843) 718-1539, www.heartkitchenji.com

Mount Pleasant:

Opal Restaurant and Bar
Those in the know east of the Cooper head to this Shoppes at Seaside Farms favorite from 4 to 6 p.m. to enjoy three of its raved-about charcuterie options, plus a glass of wine, for just $12. 1960 Riviera Dr., (843) 654-9070, www.owensdininggroup.com

Isle of Palms:

Morgan Creek Grill
A dockside tiki bar, picnic tables, and corn hole boards invite sunset revelry sweetened by drink deals plus half-off a selection of their tasty apps from 4-7 p.m. Summertime brings live music, too. 80 41st Ave., Isle of Palms, (843) 886-8980, www.morgancreekgrill.com
