For the 34th year, the City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs in conjunction with the MOJA Planning Committee celebrate the cultural influence of African-American and Caribbean art during this 11-day festival. Kicking off with an opening-day parade, MOJA offers a slew of events, many which are free to attend, including a Reggae Block Dance at Brittlebank Park, Heritage Day in Marion Square, and a visual arts exhibit at City Gallery. Be sure to catch one of three free verse poetry sessions and head to Hampton Park on October 8 for the MOJA Finale. Locations, times, & prices vary. (843)724-7305, http://www.mojafestival.com/home/
