Lecture: Moshe Safdie, Internationally-Acclaimed Architect

Presented in partnership with The National Medal of Honor Museum and the Jewish Federation of Charleston, world-renowned architect Moshe Safdie, will be giving a lecture on his work and the greater purpose behind it: an endeavor to craft social spaces that are meaningful and inclusive, enriching the communities around them. Originally hailing from Israel before emigrating to Canada, Safdie has designed buildings in both countries, such as the expansion of Yad Vashem (The World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Israel) and the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, as well as developing projects in the United States, as close to home as Mount Pleasant’s National Medal of Honor Museum at Patriot's Point. Hear from a celebrated artist who has designed structures with cultural, civic, and educational significance, having made their mark on cities around the globe. The Charleston Museum, 360 Meeting St. Wednesday, 6-7pm. $35 for non-members; $25 for members; $15 for military and students. (843) 722-2706, gibbesmuseum.org.
