A locally based film production company has crews working around the nation
They’ve created feature pieces that made you care about the athletes playing in Super Bowls and World Series, brought you interviews with Michelle Obama at the Democratic National Convention for E!, and showed you how HGTV’s Dream Home was built on Kiawah. Yep, video production company Go To Team has certainly earned its name since its establishment in Charleston 16 years ago.
“Go To Team began as a single crew—one cameraman and one sound man just wanting to shoot higher-end video,” says managing partner Shawn Moffatt. “The founders discovered there was opportunity to develop talented cameramen they could put in cities around the country so that clients such as TV networks and corporations didn’t have to travel video crews in from New York and L.A.”
After their coverage of the Monica Lewinsky case for NBC News helped boost their visibility, Go To Team set to expanding. Today, it is the largest company of its kind in the U.S., with staff camera crews in Charleston, Atlanta, Nashville, Orlando, Raleigh, Charlotte, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Dallas.
Each team is equipped with $200,000 in cameras and gear, plus a blacked out “Secret Service-looking Suburban that can go shoot anything at a moment’s notice,” says Moffatt.
