The artist known for her colorful abstracts shares her passion for the scrumptious days of disco, needlepoint, and summer fun

Art of Entertaining: “This vintage tabletop sculpture is art, entertainment, and a conversation piece all in one. Anyone can pick it up and make whatever they want!”

Hot Pink: “NARS lipstick in ‘Schiap’ has recently become a staple of my everyday look. I never wore lipstick until I discovered it because I couldn’t find the perfect shade.”

It’s a Cinch: “I love doing needlepoint, and Janet Porcher Gregg inspired me to start making belts, which I have bound by a man in Kentucky.”

Four Kicks: “George and I had both been saving for Stubbs & Wootton shoes, so we just decided to give each other customized pairs as wedding presents.”

Bridal Bling: “I bought these earrings from Candy Shop Vintage to wear on my wedding day. Deirdre is a dear friend, so I thought it would be special to put her talents to work.”

Serenity Now: “We were having a party and desperately needed something for the wall, so I painted this based on a Massimo Vitali photo. I wanted something that looked clean and calm.”

Snap & Save: “I bought this Polaroid on eBay and now have stacks of photos everywhere. We made copies of one to use as a save-the-date for our May 2010 wedding.”

Sweet Love: “For a quick break from the studio, I often go to Sugar Bakeshop for a treat. The owners are so supportive of everyone in the community, and I find their aesthetic inspiring.”

The Details:

Good Sport: “I love sport shooting. When I was 12, my grandfather gave me a 20-gauge Beretta shotgun that I keep propped by the fireplace because it’s beautiful and reminds me of him.”
Sea Change: “For my art show this month at Stems, I challenged myself with a slightly more tangible concept of summer landscapes. I live for the season—why not paint it?”
Travel Essentials: “A cashmere sweater, white Levi’s, Chanel ballet flats, a straw bag, Persol sunglasses, and NARS Illuminator.”
