Through a broadening of materials, my collection presents the possibilities that Korean designs can contribute to the originality and identity of a culture. Guided by elements of Korean tradition—specifically its architectural lattice patterns, ink and wash paintings, and roof tiles—I focus on the details of a garment, laser-cutting leather, quilting wool, and hand-painting silk using a classic brush touch technique. The simple and clean silhouettes also recall the styles of the 1960s with straight H-line forms.
