Ashanti

Résumé: Singer/Songwriter; Actor; Author; CEO of her own label, Written Entertainment; Director; Entrepreneur; Executive Producer; Philanthropist

Accolades: Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album, 8 Billboard Awards, 2 American Music Awards, Soul Train Aretha Franklin Entertainer of the Year Award, Multiple Soul Train Awards, Teen Choice Award, and others. Her feature film debut, Coach Carter,co-starring Samuel L. Jackson, was a #1 box office hit. Ashanti’s other films include other #1 box office hits, Resident Evil Extinction and John Tucker Must Die, andBride & Prejudice. As an author, her first book of poetry was through Hyperion titled Foolish/Unfoolish: Reflections on Love. Ashanti made her Broadway debut starring as Dorothy in the Tony Award-winning show, The Wiz.

Current Projects: She is currently in the studio recording her fifth studio album “Braveheart” to be released in 2013. The first single “The Woman You Love” features Busta Rhymes and is currently available for purchase from iTunes, along with her second single, "That's What We Do" featuring R. Kelly. She currently stars as LaTasha Montclair in the #1 Lifetime television series "Army Wives." The series premieres in March.
