Event Details

The Halsey Institute’s brand-new exhibit features a 10-year photographic project that artist Yaakov Israel undertook in an effort to reach a deeper understanding of his home country of Israel. Inspired by the Orthodox Jewish belief that the Messiah will arrive on a white donkey, the project includes 42 portraits and landscapes of varying size. Snag a first look during the opening reception on Friday, August 22, and meet the artist—who is exhibiting in the U.S. for the first time—at a gallery talk on Tuesday, September 9.  Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art, 161 Calhoun St. Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.
