The internationally acclaimed Charleston Gospel Choir presents its 2017 Spring Performance, Women: Honoring Global Sisterhood, showcasing the historical struggles of African-American women in the US and around the world through song and narration. Paying homage to the achievements of these women, the Choir celebrates and honors the difficulties and triumphs of all mothers, sisters, aunts, and fellow women. The concert features gospel and spiritual standards, inlcuding Walter Hawkins' "He's That Kind of Friend," Hezekiah Walker’s "Grateful," and Richard Smallwood’s "Trust Me," among others. St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 405 King St. Saturday, 5pm. $25; $10 child & student.
