The Official Charleston Day of Puppetry

The Charleston Guild of Puppeteers and the City of Charleston Mayor John Tecklenberg are proud to announce that Tuesday March 21 is officially the area's Day of Puppetry, coinciding with World Puppet Day. To officiate the holiday, a proclamation event takes place that morning at 9 am. On this day, people of the Charleston area are encouraged to use the art of puppetry in any constructive way whether it be for education, therapy, or conversation. Following the proclamation, the Charleston Guild of Puppeteers perform at the Dart Library at 10:30 am. That night, a puppet party is held at 593 King Street at 6 pm accompanied by puppet performances including "Little Red Riding Hood" and the Rock and Roll Puppet Band.
