Charleston Jazz Orchestra brings down the house with its tribute to Motown. The orchestra performs songs from some of the record label’s biggest stars, including Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, and The Temptations. The group also pays tribute to South Carolina native James Jamerson—the featured bass player on most of Motown‘s records who is now credited as one of the most influential bassists of modern time. Charleston Music Hall, 37 John St. Saturday, 5pm & 8pm. $60-$45; $55-$38 senior; $10 student.
