Event Details

Led by “The Gullah Lady,“ Sharon Cooper-Murray, this workshop will teach you the finer points of creating your own Gullah rag quilt. A tradition amongst the Gullah community since antebellum times, this beautiful folk art combines thousands of pieces of multicolored fabrics to create one-of-a-kind quilts that your family can pass down generation to generation. All necessary materials will be provided, but don’t forget to bring your own scissors. The Charleston Museum, 360 Meeting St. Saturday, 9:30am-1:30pm. $50, $45 member.
