An author, illustrator, printmaker, painter, teacher, and historian, Alice Ravenel Huger Smith played a vital role in what is now recognized as the Charleston Renaissance, the period of cultural revival that took place in the 1920s and ’30s. The Edmonston-Alston House Museum and the Middleton Place House Museum present a selection of her art and poetry from private family collections, never before available to the public. Edmonston-Alston House: 21 East Battery.
