The Charleston Library Society celebrates 100 years in their King Street home and pays tribute to a legend in the world of preservation and restoration. Richard H. Jenrette, responsible for the restoration of the Mills House Hotel and the Roper House, receives the first ever Charleston Library Society Founders Award. Stephen A. Schwartzman, chairman of the board of the Kennedy Center and generous donor to the New York Public Library, showcases Jenrette’s contributions to Charleston.
