“EARLY DAYS: A PHOTOGRAPHIC HISTORY OF AMERICA’S FIRST MUSEUM”

Founded in 1773, The Charleston Museum was America’s first and still preserves a wondrous assemblage of both national and state history today. Though the Thomson Auditorium, one of the museum’s early locations, was lost to a fire in the 1980s, current photography exhibition ”Early Days” offers a look back through the institution’s rich history in the space. Through May, take in the fascinating images that offer a glance into the storied past of one of America’s oldest cultural archives. The Charleston Museum, 360 Meeting St. Monday-Saturday, 9am-5pm; Sunday, 12-5pm. $12; $10 ages 13-17; $5 ages three-12.
