Feast Your Eyes

One reporter, four days, five food groups

Kinsey Gidick

Grab a wine glass and prepare to feast, the 2012 Charleston Wine + Food Festival is almost here! Even better? We have an all access pass, and we’re taking you with us via Charleston’s Dishing It Up blog. Over the course of the festival’s four days, I—your intrepid reporter—will endeavor to bring you daily commentary on the luminaries and legends, authors and onlookers, dishes and desserts, cocktails and canapés—you get it, everything this gourmet gathering has to offer.

Par exemple, dear readers, you can look forward to blog posts on the festival's highlights including the Opening Night Party: A Salute to Charleston Chefs, the Culinary Village, Taco Turf Wars, and our own Charleston magazine Demo Booth featuring local chefs such as FIG’s Mike Lata, Trattoria Lucca’s Ken Vedrinski, Lana’s John Ondo, Charleston Grill’s Michelle Weaver, as well as purveyors like Carrie Morey of Callie’s Biscuits. Plus, stay tuned for coverage of the Big Bottles Tasting + Auction, the New York Times Celebrity Authors Reception, a Perfectly Paired dinner at The Grocery, and a visit to Hominy Grill for their 200+ Years of Charleston Classics Dinner. There will be bubbles, bites, and even an after party or two, so make sure you bookmark the Dishing It Up Blog for my fly-on-the-wall coverage of Charleston’s most mouthwatering event of the year!
