Middleton Place Restaurant
Years ago, chef Edna Lewis set the standard—and many of the recipes—for the Southern plantation food served at Middleton Place’s restaurant. Today the restaurant still serves up she-crab soup, which makes for a lovely lunch after touring Middleton’s gorgeous gardens. The dinner menu sports fancier fare such as seared local yellowtail snapper with fingerling potatoes, garden squash, zucchini, eggplant, and green tomato chutney. Also try the Lowcountry crab cakes with tasso ham red rice, baby spinach, grape tomatoes, and grain mustard buerre blanc.
