Puppies and paintings (and some particularly humid weather) marked Wednesday night's The Bark Show, a benefit for Pet Helpers. The Wickliffe House, with its dramatically hued walls, was the perfect backdrop for an installation of contemporary artwork from the Margo Kaufman Gallery, which hosted the $10 event. Guests enjoyed wine and food courtesy of Mediterra Catering (spreads with pita, sandwiches with pickles, and custom cupcakes—easily worth the price of admission) while perusing work by several artists, including Townsend Davidson, Kate Long Stevenson, and Kaminer Haislip, whose silversmithing garnered quite a bit of attention. Volunteers cradled adoptable puppies and mingled amid the party guests, many of whom arrived in a wave toward the end of the event—but not too late to scarf a pickle and pick a pup!
