Nineteen-year-old Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Sarah Jarosz has generated a lot of buzz around Charleston this Spoleto season, and no where was that buzz louder than at the Spoleto SCENE Sarah Jarosz Pre-Party at the Halsey Gallery on Thursday, June 2.

The mandolin and banjo playing artist received rave reviews for her first CD, Song Up In Her Head, and her fans eagerly flocked to the College of Charleston’s Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art for Spoleto SCENE’s official pre-concert party.

Guests gathered in the main gallery space, where they enjoyed glasses of wine or beer and light snacks while discussing the night’s concert or perusing the Halsey’s current exhibit. As with most Spoleto SCENE parties, the crowd was young, hip, and dressed to impress.

Attendees where happy to catch up and enjoy a drink, but soon everyone was headed out into the summer night and across the street to the College of Charleston Cistern Yard. It was a great party followed by an incredible performance, one that is sure to be remembered by all who attended.
