A creative theme always adds a little bit of extra pizzazz to a party, which was certainly true at the 5th Annual SOS Gala: Here’s the News. The newspaper theme perfectly suited the traditionally black and white color-themed affair, and guests put their best foot forward in cocktail and black tie attire. 

Partygoers were greeted with the cleverly named signature cocktail of the evening, the “Early Edition”, and guests mingled about the beautiful space at Harborside East, pausing from conversations to peruse the silent auction.

The party offered guests a couple food stations, charmingly called the “Evening News in Sports” and the “International News in Dining.” Both offered up delectables from Fork Catering, and “Evening News” featured BBQ sundaes, German hot mustard and cheddar fondue, and bite sized artichoke and potato pizzas. The “International News” served Moroccan salmon skewers, Belgian endive stuffed with crab Louis, steam fried Asian dumplings, and petite French Croquet Monsiers. 

Everyone ate their full and then headed to the photo booth, which featured a newsprint backdrop for a sensational feel. 

As the party wore on, more and more guests found themselves drawn to the fabulous sounds of live band Chairmen of the Board, crowding onto the dance floor to party the night away. 

SOS: Here’s the News benefited Share Our Suzy, a non-profit founded by and continued in honor of Suzy McGrane. The organization strives to allow those battling breast cancer to focus solely on recovery by assisting and helping alleviate financial stress. SOS raises money for wigs, prosthetics, childcare, gas cards, utility bill assistance, medication assistance, and many other services.
