Day 2 started with a welcomed dose of Charleston charm in the big city as I attended K. Cooper Ray's  Social Primer presentation at the very aesthetically suitable University Club. With his cult following of well dressed and well mannered men, it was no surprise the charming yet witty Ray held his presentation in a location with strict dress code policy. In sweet irony, several of the fashion elite were turned away for NOT adhering to this dress code which...let's be honest... is quit brilliant. Fern Mallis and I discussed this very detail in a quick interview for her highly popular Sirius show. Next was Milk Studios for the Cushnie Et Ochs show. The fashion planets must have aligned because I found my self across from the creator of street style Bill Cunningham and next to the current reigning street style leader, Scott Schuman also known as the Sartorialist. Lots of lavenders, white and mint color in a very minimalist approach with clever cutouts, embroidered sheer and form flattering silhouettes. Later that evening at Billy Reid, a packed house, I was once again was seated behind Bill Cunningham. Swoon.  The presentation featured sheer pants for men, linens, pleated skirts for the ladies, luxe fabrics, lots of neutrals and what looked like Mallard ducks on sweaters, pants and shorts. Also leave it to Billy Reid to give life to the ascot!  Total fashion high!
