RiverDogs fans are nothing if not loyal, and Saturday’s impressive thunderstorms did nothing to deter the crowd of attendees to either the game or the Kindness Beats Blindness silent auction, which benefited MUSC’s Storm Eye Institute.

Baseball fans made their way into the stadium, content to munch on hot dogs and popcorn under the archways and the silent auction tent, where they were able to bid on a plethora of items.

A substantial number of items autographed by actor Bill Murray were on hand, as were mirrors, art, and sports paraphernalia. Guests mingled and placed their bids as lightening crackled overhead, and soon many fans donned rain slickers.

The Kindness Beats Blindness silent auction benefited MUSC’s Storm Eye Institute. Founded in 1990, the Storm Eye Institute seeks to advance the science of ophthalmology and meet the eye care needs of the public by committing to caring,  teaching, serving, and discovering.
