Model Lindsey Peterson in JLINSNIDER accessory.

Charleston was first officially introduced to Jamie Lin Snider when she landed a spot as one of the top three finalists in Charleston Fashion Week’s® Emerging Design Competition. She returned to the tents the following year as a Featured Designer, showing an even more cutting-edge collection than the first. She is one that you don't soon forget! Snider creates meticulously detailed garments from inspirations like skulls and graveyards. One of her sculptural creations even attracted an MTV moment for me during my time at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York in 2010! Now, she is bottling it all up and giving it to the masses with her new boutique located on Upper King. This is where you will find a unique shopping adventure filled with her designs, exclusive labels, and rare vintage finds for men and women. This Friday, September 2nd from 6 to 9pm, the JLINSNIDER Boutique will open its door for the first time with a highly anticipated Grand Opening party. Of course, in the fashion world we like to be the first to know so I have your sneak peek photos from inside the shop accompanied by Jamie Lin’s own words giving you a few intriguing reasons why you don’t want to miss this stylish bash!

“The centerpiece of the store is a dress entirely made of bone. It has ostrich bone, a whole ostrich vertebrae, snake vertebrae, coyote teeth, bison teeth...probably over 1,000 bones on it.”

“It’s all kind of a bone/graveyard theme. But the back courtyard area will be very different from this. There will be color and lots of random things out there.”

“I have tons of designer vintage. Dior, Valentino, Balenciaga, Fendi. A ton of men’s and women’s boots for fall, and lots of fall clothing. Men’s designer suits like Dior, Lanvin, and Givenchy.”

“I’m excited about local designers that I’ll be selling here. Michael Wiernicki, he was an emerging designer at Charleston Fashion Week this year...I’m carrying his collection. And other local designers will be sold here all the time.”

“I love my vintage Dior for Saks Fifth Avenue gown. My leather bookbags. Sheer long skirts. Designer Scarves. Crocodile bags, armadillo bags, saddle bags.”

“... Oh and I have a skincare line! That’s something new.”

Check out what Jamie Lin has to say about her personal excitement in anticipation for the Grand Opening and the introduction of  First Friday!

“The party should be really amazing. I’m introducing a new DJ to Charleston—DJ Stumble—he’s from Philly. He has some really cool mixes and knows all about First Friday. I’m excited for our collaboration and bringing First Friday to King Street. At our First Friday, I’ll have a bunch of local vendors—16 of them set up in the back of the store that will come sell their art—jewelry, paintings, crafts; lots of different types of art. And at the end of the night it’s all about the DJs, music, and partying. “

There will be 10% off opening night. And if you are a student you get 10% off with student ID, year-round.

Bone-chillingly Chic!
