Looking for the perfect vino to add romance to Valentine’s Day? Try one of these alluring varieties

Gosset Grande Réserve Brut Champagne NV (Champagne, France), $60: Whether starting or ending an evening, nothing adds to the moment quite like Champagne. This sparkling wine with a golden hue and flavors of fig, candied cherries, roasted almonds, and pralines has a toasty taste and rich aroma that will go straight to your head.

Château d’Esclans “Whispering Angel” Rosé 2010 (Côtes de Provence, France), $22: This very powerful yet elegant rose-colored vintage can stand up to just about any dish. Flavors of red currant, dried red fruit, and flowers are highlighted with bright acidity and minerality. The wine has been named by several sommeliers as the best rosé in the world.

Fisher Vineyards “Wedding Vineyard” Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 (Sonoma County, California), $120:  A joyous union deserves a memorable wine, such as this velvety cabernet sauvignon featuring flavors of cherry-vanilla, mocha, espresso, and dark fruit compote that dance on the palate. Its strong tannins and long finish make this a vintage worth celebrating.

Alexana Winery “Revana Vineyard” Riesling 2010 (Dundee Hills, Oregon), $28:  White peach, apricot, and honeysuckle flavors make this delightfully dry Riesling fresh and juicy. Bright and crisp, it is an excellent accompaniment for delicate seafood or vegetable dishes. Deemed by the winery as “liquid candy,” it is sure to spark up that special moment.

Elio Perrone “Bigarò” Rosé 2009 (Piedmont, Italy), $20: This effervescent blend of moscato and brachetto grapes is typically served with dessert as the perfectly sweet way to end a meal. With its deep pink color and flavors of red cherries and dried roses, this classic Italian vintage will make any evening more romantic.
