Week of Peace

Since 2008, the Charleston Peace One Day organization has promoted intercultural cooperation and non-violence in South Carolina through an annual citywide festival. What’s groovier than one day of peace? Eight days, as this year’s celebration expands into more than 80 events and initiatives around the city and throughout the state. Look for partnerships with the YMCA, the Girl Scouts, boutiques on King Street, and Morris Brown AME, who’s hosting a block party to unite churchgoers around the Holy City. The week concludes on September 21, the United Nations’ International Day of Peace. Locations, times, & prices vary. (843)437-3280, www.bepeaceful.org
