Event Details

If you’ve perused the latest traveling exhibition to stop at the Halsey, “Lesley Dill’s Poetic Visions: From Shimmer to Sister Gertrude Morgan,” you can see why it inspired a free poetry series that’s running all month long. Four dates bring a variety of artists, beginning with heavy-hitters from the Poetry Society of South Carolina on February 7, including SC Poet Laureate Marjory Wentworth. Also on the docket: Ted Pope on February 19 and Jillian Weise, author of The Amputee’s Guide to Sex and The Colony, on February 21. A reception follows each evening of readings. Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art, 161 Calhoun St. Tuesday & Thursday, 7 p.m. (843) 953-4422, halsey.cofc.edu
