Event Details

Tony-nominated playwright Charles Busch wrote this work satirizing Hollywood films about nuns. Set in 1996 Pittsburg at St. Veronica’s convent, the story—inspired by movies The Song of Bernadette, The Bells of St. Mary’s, Agnes of God, and The Singing Nun—tells of Mother Superior’s efforts to fund a new school. Hilarious events include an unexpected visit from a Berlin nun, an effeminate boy seeking attention, rampant sexual tension among the sisters, and the appearance of an old flame. Wolfe Street Playhouse, 34 Wolfe St. Thursday-Saturday, 7:30pm; Sunday, 3pm. $30-$25. (843)856-1579, www.woolfestreetplayhouse.com
