See how just one voice can change a community through this powerful combination of art and song presented by Charleston Chamber Opera. Listen to excerpts from the operas of South Carolina’s most talented African American composers including Scott Joplin, the “King of Ragtime.” His raw representation of life on a post-Civil War plantation will be held in conjunction with the Gibbes’ exhibit “Places for the Spirit: Traditional African American Gardens of the South.” Gibbes Museum of Art, 135 Meeting St. Sunday, 3pm. $25; $15 members.
