Event Details

The eighth annual Music and Oysters for Wildlife comes to Awendaw with local bands, all-you-can-eat bivalves, and fun for the whole family. Check out the great buys in the silent and live auction and be sure to bring your oyster knife and gloves. This rain-or-shine event kicks off with the Lincoln Middle/High School Steel Band and is followed by musical acts such as Danielle Howle + Firework Show, Mark Bryan with Occasional Milkshake, Doug Jones, and the Red Dog Ramblers. If you’re not an oyster fan, enjoy barbecue, burgers, and hot dogs for sale along with sodas, wine, and beer to quench your thirst. All proceeds from the event benefit the SEWEE Association and their efforts to protect coastal National Wildlife Refuges and National Forest. SEWEE Outpost, 4853 Hwy. 17N., Awendaw. Saturday, 2-6pm. $35; free for child under 12. (843)884-7539, www.seweeassociation.org
