Lowcountry Embroidery
Throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, almost every young girl learned to sew. And The Charleston Museum’s collection of locally made schoolgirl samplers allows a unique peek back in time at embroidery, needlepoint, and appliqué textiles. Stop by to see the traditional craft in this large collection.
